When I first started working, I became a sort of control freak.
I didn’t grow up being one, it’s just that my first job involved actually doing almost everything by yourself and I kinda carried that over in my next ones.
The good thing about being a control freak is that you get to do things exactly the way you want them done. The problem with being a control freak is that you are not always right.
So, yes. Control freak tendencies is something that I am constantly working on.
Because no one has the monopoly on good ideas. No one has the energy to do everything (or, even if one does have the energy, one should not be doing everything).
Trust your team. Protect your sanity. Give your project a better chance to succeed by inviting the inputs and efforts of other people.
